Finishing touches on the Guardian

Posted on August 14, 2022September 14, 2022 By Mike No Comments on Finishing touches on the Guardian
Kayak Building, Taalak

Took a bit to figure out how to mount my Garmin transducer. Kinda silly that Hobie would make a part that doesn’t play well with Garmin transducers because they have some sort of partnership with Lowrance.

Anyways, I figured out where I wanted to mount it, than I made a piece to replace the front piece that can be removed. This was originally intended to be for changing out plastic shields to help protect your transducer.

How much protection does a transducer need? It already retracts if getting hit and is somewhat protected by having a mirage drive in front of it. (Note: I don’t have a kick up fin version. I’m on the original V1)

A carefully created piece to screw in my transducer, minimal cutting/drilling of the Guardian plastic.
